Mark will be buying a mock-up of the Soyuz capsule and his spacesuit as souvenirs. The model and space suit will be on display to learners as part of an educational road-show that he will take to schools around the country.
Mark originally wanted to buy the actual capsule that he returned to earth in, but could not do so because it would go against an international agreement on non-proliferation of rocket and space technology. The head of Energia, the company that built the capsule, Yuri Semyonov, said that Mark could buy a mock-up of the capsule, as well as his space suit.
